Brief summary of what Diginet is all about:
Diginet or leased line services are dedicated point-to-point connections providing the user with an always on service. Diginet is based on carrier class Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line technology that provides guaranteed bandwidths between any predefined destinations. The customer determines the transmission speed "throughput" of the Diginet services that would best suit their application. There is no traffic congestion due to other users, as it is used in a private network topology. This also means that customers do not share bandwidth. As Diginet is a constant bit-rate service it means that there is no slowdown of data transmission speed. It is also used for last mile technology to the ISP.
Although Telkom guarantees the Diginet throughput speed it does not guarantee any throughput speeds of the Internet. When a user accesses the Internet utilizing a Diginet line the guaranteed throughput stops once the data enters the Internet
ACCESS Options
Fibre Xpress Plus
Customers running on this service have top priority in relation to other Access services running across the CodeOnline Network, effectively guaranteeing a committed information rate between any CodeOnline point of presence locally and International. This priority is upheld in everyday conditions as well as outages thereby ensuring a continuous internet feed. CodeOnline Offers an SLA on this service providing guarantees on Latency, packet loss and availability.
This service is aimed at clients who are running low latency applications to the rest of the world as well as clients who cannot afford any downtime.
Fibre Xpress
Customers running on this service will experience superior performance, but do not effectively have a guaranteed committed information rate, as do the Fibre Xpress Plus customers. The Fibre Xpress service runs at a low multiplexing ratio allowing customers to share the cost of bandwidth across the network, but still be provided with guarantees surrounding latency, packet loss and availability. CodeOnline Offers an SLA on these parameters.
Access Plus
Customers not requiring any stringent guarantees regarding latency have the option of deploying the Access Plus service. This service is media independent, meaning that traffic may be routed over Fibre or Satellite, depending on current Network conditions. This service is ideal for customers using the Internet for basic Internet based applications such as browsing, email and FTP. This service is also a shared service and provides a cost effective solution for companies requiring a basic Internet Service. |
